Wonderful Location and People
Ios wonderful and magic location to spend holidays in August. Beautiful beaches, restaurants, nature, water sports and very nice and gentle people.
Noufaro is a beautiful Hotel really close to the large beach Mylopotas and close to nice restaurants.
cleanliness of the rooms, kindness of the owners, beautiful atmosphere are aspects of this amazing Hotel.

BEWARE!! LOOKS ARE DECEIVING!! A NIGHTMARE OF A 2 WEEK STAY!!
Note that AEGEAN & NOUFARO ARE THE SAME HOTEL ON THE SAME PROPERTY, SAME OWNERS.
Think twice before you book either of these 2 accommodations, if you value a good night’s sleep for you and your family.
This place looks good from far, but is far from good!
We had looked forward to staying here, from the photos provided ... little did we know the hell that was awaiting us.
Every summer for the past 25+ years, we spend 2 months in Greece, and never have we experienced such a horrific nightmare of a stay. We did not get a good night’s sleep for the entire 2 weeks we had booked.
Not to mention that we were paying 200€/ night CASH!
1) The mattresses are AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! The metal springs were sticking out and digging into us as we tossed and turned, trying desperately to get some sleep. Nightly, my young grandchild was waking up crying.
2) The pillows are not like pillows we’ve ever experienced ANYWHERE. They consisted of layers upon layers of some rough cotton batting fabric stuffed into pillow cases. They were rock hard, like something out of my grandmother’s era.
Who knows where they came from and when they were last washed. WE ENDED UP USING A SMALL PILE OF OUR CLOTHING AS PILLOWS!
Just ridiculous.
We complained to the owner Mr Nick, about the unacceptable & intolerable mattress and pillow issues that were preventing us from getting ANY SLEEP, and so he brought in other mattresses and pillows that ended up being no different and no better!
- Do not expect any soundproofing whatsoever. Doors and walls are paper thin!
We were repeatedly subjected to drunken guests returning at all hours throughout the night, slamming doors, laughing, yelling, playing loud music...
- Although we were 3, our tiny balcony had a small table and only 2 chairs. Rusted, uncomfortable metal chairs topped with old, dirty, torn cushions.
No privacy whatsoever as the neighbouring room’s balcony stairs were mere inches away. Needless to say, we couldnt use the balcony, not that there was anything other than a field to look at.
As a hotel owner, there is NO POINT investing in a fancy looking pool, and renovated bathrooms, when you couldn’t care less to provide the BASIC NECESSITIES: decent mattresses and pillows to ensure at the very least that your guests can get SOME SLEEP.
As AEGEAN/NOUFARO guests we were being charged TOP DOLLAR for a sleep-deprived stay that was equivalent to spending night after night in a CHEAP HOSTEL or on haystacks in a barn.
The jar of honey gifted to us at the end of our stay by Mr Nick, although a kind gesture, in no way, shape or form made up for the nightmare of a 2 week stay we had been subjected to.
Unless the owners invest in MUCH NEEDED new mattresses and pillows, WE CANNOT RECOMMEND THE AEGEAN/NOUFARO HOTEL.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE: Violent and extremely disrespectful owner
I stayed at noufaro with my 3 girl friends and we had the most horrible experience. We needed a key urgently at night, so we aked the owner very nicely and apologized for the inconvenience and the owner started screaming and insulting me and my friend, insulted us in greek and had violent gesture because “we woke him up”, we felt extremely uncomfortable and scared staying there after this happened and we did not get any apology, instead he came back to tell us how we ruined his sleep! We were scared of him after this event.
If you are girls traveling I urge you not to stay at this hotel, the treatment we received was unacceptable and I never saw anything like it.

Wonderful place, wonderful people
I loved staying here, everything was perfect, thank you very much. I will definitely come back. Nikos the owner was very kind. They offer also a free transfer to the port. The beach is very beautiful, the bus stop for going to Chora and to Manganari beach is nearby.

Pleasant stay
We were very warmly welcomed, the island itself was a bit too young for us but has nothing to do with this lovely hotel. Literally 10 steps from the beach, clean, comfortable rooms. Extremely accessible, awesome location, the owner allowed us to chose a room we wanted, definitely look at the rooms first. It could have been slightly cheaper for the quality of stay. We were there three nights and never had our sheets changed/cleaned/refreshed. Also no blanket, sheet only, which was tattered.
So in short: all in all our stay was good, awesome location, awesome family run hotel, could use a little more attention to refreshing the rooms.
