We had an incredible weekend stay at the Casey Key Resort in Nokomis. The staff were amazing, the accommodations were elegant, the location was IDEAL (especially for a fisherman), and the views were PRICELESS. We stayed in a cozy cabin and had access to both the gorgeous white sandy beaches of the gulf along with dock access to the Intercoastal Waterway. I would highly recommend this small little hotel as it is both cozy and wonderfully located on Casey Key.

Disappointing

I made a reservation through Expedia for 2 adults and 2 children. My room only had one bed. The sofa bed was all dirty and there were no bedding. I traveled 3 hours by car to get there and had to drive another 3 hours back home the same day because the room could not accommodate 4 people. The attendant who only communicated by text message offered me the option of a refund for the reservation only. I could not find any other hotel because it was spring break and I still went home without the chance to enjoy family time with my children and husband since my husband lives abroad. I made the reservation correctly. I have a proof. And if you offer your hotel on Expedia, you must trust the platform. So, there is no point in blaming them. I am very sad about what happened and the coldness with which I was treated. In addition, the hotel does not have a pool, there is no beach service such as chairs or umbrellas. According to the attendant who texted, you have to get them from somewhere, which I could not find, and set them up on the beach. Don't go to this place without knowing these details.

Hidden Gem

We recently visited the resort and stayed on bungalow #16 (The boat house) and it was out of this world! The place was spotless and the accommodations were nicely appointed. Plenty of room and anything you need to use the kitchen. The staff was phenomenal including Cheryl the manager.

Visible black mold was evident throughout the rental unit. My wife, who is allergic to mold, began the night in our room but ended up moving to our car. We had a three night reservation but left after the first night. There’s no one on site to speak with; check-in and all other communication is done remotely by text or email. I sent a text with pictures of the mold to the property manager and notified them we were leaving early but didn’t even get the courtesy of a reply never mind an apology. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Great spot near Shark Tooth haven

Nice quiet neighborhood with an amazing beach. The public beach is nearby yet not overly crowded. The sand was great and lots of small shark teeth were found every walk took on the beach. The bungalow was great altho the bathroom was small as was the coffee pot, the proximity to the beach was awesome. Very relaxing area.
