Maravilhoso

lindo lugar quartos limpos vista fabulosa ficamos duas noites e eles cuidaram de nós muito bem. altamente recomendável para os jovens não se esqueça de assistir o sol nascer da manhã na varanda O Sr. Bandara foi muito informativo e útil

Keeping in mind this is a 3 star hotel, the positives are the rooms are big with a balcony looking out at amazing views (ours anyway), and the pool is clean and quite big also with amazing views and a concrete elephant water feature!!! The location of the hotel is pretty good too - far enough from other properties to be quiet but close enough to Ella main drag that you can walk in 10-15 minutes or pay a tuk tuk driver double the rate of Colombo to get to and from. The big negative for us was that despite being told upon checking in that the room would be cleaned every day, it was not. And I was told the reason why was that we didn’t hand in our key for it to be done - which seems bizarre after staying in hotels for decades and not being told to or having to hand in a key in order to get a standard daily room clean. The insinuation that it was our fault for not handing in a key (not that we were told to do so on checking in) was extremely irritating. Food was ok but overpriced so we ate elsewhere (lots of options). There were lots of little things in the rooms that could be easily addressed to make them nicer - definitely not having ripped old bath towels, and removing an empty TV bracket from the wall (like a TV used to be there but not anymore - or was it just our room, who knows). All these little things add up to I really think the room rate is too high - but we are here in the high season so maybe that’s just the going rate.

Good price/quality balance

Overall we are satisfied.
The renovated rooms are comfortable and spacious. The beds are great, and breakfast is good (even if the food is sometimes cold).
Just be aware that the hotel is still undergoing renovations, so make sure to request a renovated room. We stayed the first night in a non-renovated room: the air conditioning was broken, the fan was noisy and impossible to use at night, the fridge was constantly running, and the safe didn’t work. We asked to change rooms, and they accommodated us the next day.
The staff are friendly as well. The hotel is located a little outside Ella, which is actually a plus since the town can be noisy. And of course, the best feature of this place is the incredible view of the valley and Ella Rock!
I would definitely go back to Misty Hills if I return to Ella.

A nice visit

An excellent location in the heart of the mountains, offering breathtaking views. The city is around 15 mins from the resort and it's very lively with plenty of options for food and having an evening stroll. Transportation with tuk tuk is available at ease. The staff was very friendly and it has a nice infinity pool.

Great place to stay in Ella

Amazing views from our room! The rooms were spacious with a table and chairs and couch (we had two deluxe rooms for our family). Good air conditioning and comfortable beds. The swimming pool was superb also with amazing views. The breakfast was good. It's about a 10 min walk up the hill to Ella or just catch a tuk tuk. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely stay here again.
